A sample of projects Earth Wise Consulting has helped move from idea to reality.
Ehrenfeld Mine Reclamation - Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds
Earth Wise Consulting provided grant writing, project management, and development services for a $25 million mine reclamation project addressing a legacy coal refuse pile containing 3.2 million tons of material.
Secured $600,000 in matching funds to move the project
forward.
The completed project improved water and air quality,
increased developable land in the area by 45%, and improved health, safety, and
property values for the borough.
Recognized with the National OSMRE 2020 Reclamation
Award.
Volunteer Fire Department — Facility & Stormwater Project
Procured $2.2 million in ARRA funding to help construct
a safer, code-compliant fire station meeting NFPA, OSHA, and LEED standards.
Enabled local job creation, enhanced fire operations,
and supported 24-hour staffing capability.
Designed a companion stormwater management project
capturing roof and lot runoff in a cistern for use as an emergency water source
and equipment washing — reducing demand on the municipal water supply.
Hyndman Area Health Center
Assisted with procuring more than $750,000 in combined
grants and loans for the health center.
Long-term consulting relationship focused on
identifying funding opportunities aligned with the center's operational needs.
Saxton Borough — Public Safety & Infrastructure
Procured funding for two police cruisers, a utility
truck with plow, a boom lift, and portable radios.
Secured additional funding for an infrared detection
system addressing a malfunctioning traffic signal sensor on Main Street.
Procured more than $220,000 for pervious pavement, a
10,000-gallon cistern, and a cul-de-sac — reframed and funded as a stormwater
management project rather than a standalone public safety request.
